experts about refugees and immigration.
Each student will present his or her family’s story of coming to
Your Task
You will have to do research. First briefly describe your home
country. Where is the country? What is its history?
You need to answer the following questions: When did people from your native country first begin coming to the United States? What motivated people to leave? Or Why do they come? How many people from your country are living in the United States? What is your countries relationship to the United States? How many refugees/immigrants from your country come to the United States? What is the currently happening in your country?
Statistics:
For statistical information about your country go to www.nationmaster.com Click on countries and find your countries profile. Under the category immigration: Record the number of refugees, immigrants, and acceptance rates to the United States. Don't just record the numbers, later you will need to know what the numbers refer to. Write the number and tell what it describes.

Assessment
Criteria FACT SHEET
Your final product will be a
one-page typed fact sheet. The fact sheet will be sent to schools before
your presentation. Other classes will read your fact sheet, it has to be
complete, without errors, and easy to read.

Include a timeline of important dates in your countries history. Go to

of your homeland. Also go to
