Essential Question/Scenario

How can you best educate others about the experiences of recent immigrants and refugees?
As a student in this class you will become experts about refugees and immigration.  Each student will present his or her family’s story of coming to America and the experience of leaving the country of birth and learning to live in a new country, learning a new language, and adapting to a new culture.

Your Task
You will have to do research.  First briefly describe your home country.  Where is the country?  What is its history?

You need to answer the following questions:  When did people from your native country first begin coming to the United States?  What motivated people to leave?  Or Why do they come?  How many people from your country are living in the United States?  What is your countries relationship to the United States?  How many refugees/immigrants from your country come to the United States?  What is the currently happening in your country?
