The Puget Sound Center:
The Puget Sound Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology (PSCTLT) is a private, non-profit organization created in 1998. The mission of the Puget Sound Center is to leverage the power of technology, diversity and leadership to transform teaching and learning. PSCTLT is committed to improving teacher preparation and professional development, providing access to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) for underrepresented groups, and helping educational and non-profit organizations analyze and improve their programs and projects.
Position Description:
This position is responsible for developing and managing all aspects of evaluation activities for multiple internal and external evaluation and research projects.
Specific responsibilities may include:
- Develop proposals and evaluation plans for potential work
- Develop evaluation-related plans, materials, and protocols for proposals and active programs
- Collaborate with stakeholders in all stages of evaluation processes
- Produce written reports, publications, and presentations concerning evaluation processes and findings
- Contribute to the development and improvement of data tracking and reporting systems
- Coordinate and participate in data collection necessary for reports
- Conduct literature reviews on a broad range of educational issues
- Conduct interviews and focus groups
- Create and administer online surveys
- Oversee the accuracy and integrity of data collected
- Analysis of data using statistical software (quantitative and/or qualitative)
- Public presentation of findings with clients and at conferences
- Train other evaluation staff on various aspects of evaluation
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (preferably in the area of Evaluation and/or Education or related field)
- Minimum five years of experience in program evaluation
- Strong quantitative skills
- Expertise in project management
- Experienced in using SPSS to analyze statistical data
- Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications including e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, online surveys, and presentation software
- Demonstrated research skills using Web-based resources
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree
- Experience in research or evaluation of school professional development or educational programs
- Experience in research or evaluation of instructional technology programs
- Experience in research or evaluation of programs addressing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) issues or programs
- Experience in research or evaluation of out of school time or informal education programs
Physical Work Environment:
Work is typically performed in an office environment. The ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk/computer station and perform tasks involving repetitive arm and hand movements, such as using a computer keyboard, is required. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds when handling instructional materials.
Work Schedule:
Full time. Flexible work hours will be considered. Must be able to travel as projects require.
Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with experience. Salary range is $55,000-65,000. The Center provides an excellent benefits package, which includes medical, dental, life insurance, a retirement plan, and paid vacation.
